Playing Catch Up.....Again

I know!!!

I'm behind yet again. It's amazing how quickly time passes.

The kids all got to graduate from high school. Family was able to make it to the ceremony and we were all quite proud of them.

Keeping Busy

We are certainly staying busy. The end of the school year seems to bring it's own kind of chaos. It's like everything that wasn't scheduled before then gets crammed into the last two weeks of school.

We attended my niece Kate's graduation from the University of Texas.

I still can't believe she's old enough to have graduated from college!!

Addison had a soccer tournament in San Antonio (or more accurately, the far southwest side of San Antonio which made it about a two hour trek from our house.) She's always played in a defensive position, but this year she's been playing more midfield. Well, we look out at the field when the second game is getting ready to start and see this....

Addison was playing goalie! What?! She's only played once before and she was about 7 at the time. She played hard but they got two past her so she was pretty upset.

Regardless, they were pretty wiped out by the end of the two days.

Kirsten had her end of the year  Show Choir Banquet. This was the first year for the Show Choir program and she's glad that she participated. Here she is stealing my date for photo ops. (But aren't they cute?)

Even though it gets busy, it's nice to see them participate and enjoy some of the different things that are available to them.

Graduation

I almost forgot to post about Dax's graduation from the Sheriff's Citizens' Academy.

This was the second round of classes for him and he graduated last Thursday.

We all went to see him graduate (and eat some great bar-b-que.)

The Sheriff presented the certificates.

They even gave little badges to the kids.

Wasn't that nice?

Graduation weekend

Last weekend my neice graduated from high school. I don't even know how that's possible!! She was just a baby last week...where does the time go?

We drove to Houston on Friday after the kids got out of school (it was their last day and they got out early - very early). We decided to take the dog with us on this trip. She traveled like a champ, but who wouldn't with her plush accomodations?

I thought I was going to have to make Wyatt sit in the floor. I wasn't sure there was room for both of them in that seat and Daisy was being awfully good.

The graduation was on Saturday. I would show pictures but they're on my other camera (the one I got for Mother's Day. The one I'm not allowed to use.) Maybe I can get Dax to download them for me. :0)

Then Katie had her party on Sunday. Now that she's older I decided that she was ready to have a family heirloom passed on to her. Doesn't she look so happy and touched to receive it?

It's a candle, and that lovely candle has been a prized posession for many different people in our family through the years. It's truly cherished.

Okay, maybe heirloom is too strong a word. As are prized posession, and cherished. It's really an old Christmas candle that melted in the attic and now has a funky new shape. We really have passed it around for at least the last 15 years and the one with posession usually can't wait to get rid of it.
