Addison is not playing soccer this season. There is too much drama going on between the coaches so we kept her out this season and hope that it will be better by the time the fall season comes around.
So, to fill that void she's decided to participate in beauty pageants.
Truth be told, she's been bugging me about it for a couple of years now and finally just wore me down. I finally said yes and she found a pageant that she competed in a couple of weeks ago.
I secretly hoped that she would go and hate it.
I know that's terrible but I'm just keepin' it real here.
Anyway, instead of hating it, she went and won her division.
They don't let you take pictures at the pageant so I had to wait for my disc to arrive.
I'm not ready for how gown up looking she is. *sigh*

Update
Wyatt had surgery on his right knee yesterday.
It all went well and once again he handled it like a real trooper. While the doctor was in there, he shaved off a soft spot on the knee cap so I think he might be in a little more pain that he would have been otherwise.
His knee is still all bandaged up so I don't know swollen it is or anything like that. I know they cut on each side of his knee, but I think the cuts are supposed to be relatively small.
I'll take all of the wrapping off this evening and he'll have to wear the compression hose on both legs. I'll also put the brace back on locked in the straight position and he'll have to wear that also until he goes back to the doctor next week to have the stitches removed. Then I guess we'll see where we go from there.

It's a miracle!
It's a miracle!
Dax had State Guard duty this weekend. You know that something seems to go wrong EVERY time he's gone (or at least that's how it feels.)
Well, NOTHING went wrong this time!!
WOOHOOOO!
I told the kids on Saturday morning that Dax was gone and there would be no mishaps.
For once they listened. Our only excitement was a trip to Target and to the library.
That's the kind of excitement I can handle.

And the winner is.....
Many of the UIL competitions were held a couple of weekends ago. Kirsten's art teacher had really liked one of Kirsten's projects and entered it into one of the many divisions in the art category.
The good news is that she won 2nd place!!! Woohoo!
Here she is with her medal...
We are so proud of her!
The not so good news.....
The schoold did an awards ceremony that was BEFORE school started in the morning. We got there about 5-10 minutes late and they had ALREADY called her name! I felt sooooooo bad that she missed having her name called. At least she gets some glory by having me post about the good job she did.
In other news, someone found our dog and she is back home with us. She was gone for about four days. The man that found her lives even more secluded than we do and he thought someone had just dumped her until he saw our sign. At least she was being taken good care of while she was gone.

Missing
One of our dogs got out a couple of days ago and we haven't been able to find her.
It's Daisy and she's Wyatt's dog.
Poor kid is having a pretty sucky start to this year.
The drums are an even bigger blessing to give him something to be excited about in the midst of the not-so-fun stuff.
