Ugh.....not again.....

Well, Wyatt is back in a knee brace and back to physical therapy.

He has dislocated his right knee and this time managed to chip the knee cap.

And you'll never guess how he did it.

Go ahead.

Guess.

I dare you.

Give up?

He dislocated his knee and chipped the knee cap by rolling over in his sleep and hitting the wall!!

Bet you didn't guess that did you?

I mean, WHO DOES THAT?!

Even the doctor and the physical therapist both laughed when we told them how it happened this time.

So.....now it's physical therapy for who knows how long to get everything good again. You just can't make this stuff up, life is crazy sometimes.

Another addition.....

We have yet another new member to our family.

Meet Phrank (or as I like to call him Pa-Ha-Rank....phonetics at work.)

The kids had to design and build roller coasters for science class. One of the groups included fish somehow in their design and this on ended up at my house. I guess because we needed another pet around here.

Addison is responsible for this one.

Since everyone around here has a big heart for animals it makes it hard to say no. Sometimes I feel like we're one more pet away from an episode of Animal Hoarders!!

A Visit to the Capitol

On Saturday, we went with a group to the state Capitol. Our group had a private meeting with our State Representative and then a tour of the Capitol. It was nice to do.

After we finished the tour of the Capitol, we went over to the Peace Officers' Memorial which is on the Capitol grounds.

After we were done there we headed to lunch with some friends. The food and the company were both good.

Look at the size of the burger that Dax had!!

It has just about everything on it. There is only one patty in that picture, the other meat is brisket, and there's also a fried egg on there. Decadent!!

We have a new resident

What is wrong with us?!

I guess our hearts take control and our minds and ability to reason are lost.

Abigail has a new dog.......

She is a four year old rottweiler that Dax found at the shelter in Austin. This picture doesn't show it, but she's a beautiful dog.

We've had her for a few weeks now and she has gotten used to all of the other dogs. She wants so badly to play with the cats, but they're having none of it.

She has also gotten totally attached to Abigail.

I just wish she could learn to relax a little.......

She's been a good dog overall. She's not quite sure that she trusts Dax yet, but she's had a little bit of a rough time with men and being at the shelter, but she's coming around. She gets more comfortable everyday about the fact that she's in a place where she gets to stay.

I guess we really are just crazy. And now two of them are trying to talk me into getting a kitten!! I think the crazy has spread to the kids too!!

Weekend Away

Thanks to my wonderful parents, who came to stay with our children, Dax and I were able to get away for the weekend.

We spent it in San Antonio, mostly down on the Riverwalk. We had a nice, relaxing time mostly sitting on the balcony of our room and watching people on the Riverwalk. We did venture over to The Alamo, we did a little shopping, and we did a lot of eating in just three days.

It's good to get away.......but it's also good to get back home.

The best day EVER!!!

That's what Kirsten had.

For Christmas we gave her a ticket to go to the Hunter Hayes concert (he was opening for Carrie Underwood.) She's been waiting not so patiently for concert day to arrive.

Dax and I drew straws and I got to take her to the concert. (Not really.....he couldn't even begin to imagine being in a venue full of screaming teenage girls.)

She's ready to go, sh even curled her hair.

She took a friend with her and we stopped for lunch on the way.

Kirsten saved up her money and bought a 'coffee house experience' where you actually get to meet Hunter Hayes and have coffee with him.

He signed their cases.

And she got to have her picture taken with him.

Of course she'll never wash those shoulders again!!!

They did plenty of yelling and screaming during his performance.

They had a great time.

I can't really tell you a whole lot about it, because this was my view....

But it's okay, because those two little girls were so excited to be there. They sang along and danced as best they could. It was cute.

All in all, it was a very long day - didn't get home until after midnight and I'm getting too old for that - but Kirsten had the best day ever and that makes it all worth it!

Another Pageant

Addison participated in another pageant in Austin.

Getting ready:

She was in a different age group for this one. I think she was the only one in her normal age group so they combined her with the group that was older. She was by far smaller than the other girls.

She didn't win. She got a Princess title and trophy, but she had fun anyway and that's what it's supposed to be about.
