First big purchase...

Wyatt has been saving up his money for his first big purchase.

They were having a sale, so he and Dax went and did a little shopping yesterday.

Can you guess what he bought?

How 'bout now?

Now it should be easy to guess!

By the look on Dax's face, I'm thinking he's a little impressed.

Wyatt is so thrilled with this gun. He's already been through about 250 rounds and who knows how many targets. Dax didn't even have to tell him twice to clean it after they were done shooting.

Now the girls are wanting to learn how to shoot too.

Guess they'll be saving up for pink ones.

We survived!!

We made it through Tax Season!!!!

Woohoo!!

It was a really busy year this year. Dax did about 170 personal returns plus all the partnership and corporate returns that he did too.

It's really hard to make it through all of this work with the kids and all, but we found that this helps....

Really, though, how old do they have to be before they quit thinking it's fun to get into the dog's kennel?

Tough Weekend

It was a brutal weekend for Addison and soccer.

They played on both Saturday and Sunday, and got beaten both days.

But I swear the girls they played on Sunday were in their late teens. Just look how much bigger they are than our girls.

We're the team in red. These girls are supposed to be 10 and 11. Can you believe that those tall girls in the black are only 10 or 11? What are they feeding those kids?

Whatever it is, we need to get some!!

More growing pains

It's getting to be time for these to be used by the girls in our house.

And let me tell you, they are not happy about it.

Kirsten is down right ticked off about it. She's upset that she's starting to get hair under her arms and she's going to have to start shaving them. And then of course she'll have to start shaving her legs too. Ugh! (Said with all the attitude of a pre-teen.)

When I talked to Addison about it, she asked why it has to be so hard to become a woman.

AAAAAAHHHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I, of course, told her that this is just the beginning. She hasn't seen anything yet. (I'm always one to put their minds at ease.)

Then I reminded her that she would also be getting hair on her 'privates'.

She flipped out at the thought of that.

Addison: Why?! Why would you get hair there? That's just stupid!! What a stupid place for hair! Why would anyone do that?! Who decided that?!

Me: I don't know! I don't know! It wasn't my idea. uhm.....so did you remember to bring your water for soccer practice? (sheesh! wipe the sweat from my brow.)

If they're this upset about hairy armpits and legs, I can't wait for what's yet to come.

Where can I hide?

Happy Easter....Part Deaux

The kids had a lot of fun looking for eggs.

Look good out there in their tennis shoes and pajamas don't they?

But. apparently, it started to rain while the Easter Bunny was hiding the eggs outside so there were eggs in the house as well.

Of course after the egg hunt, we all proceeded to eat way too much and enjoy time spent as a family. It was a really nice day.

Since I had given up sugar for Lent (Dax wants to know why the rest of the family has to suffer for my sacrifice. Maybe that's their sacrifice?), I did my best to eat only things that were heavily laden with sugar.

Maybe, just maybe, I should spend 40+ days eating ONLY things with lots of sugar as a reward for my succesful sacrifice.

Makes perfect sense to me.

And, don't even ask what's going on in this one. It's hard to get a normal picture of Addison. Although, I guess by now this is 'normal' for her.

Happy Easter....Part 1

So far we're having a great Easter weekend.

Addison had a soccer gtame today, and finally the weather was warm and sunny, and the wind wasn't blowing a hundred miles an hour. Unfortunately, her team lost. It's been a rough season for them, but this is their first time together as a team. Hopefully they'll get their issues all worked out.

After her game, we met the in-laws for bar-b-que.

Fortunately it's all fat free.....

Then we came home and colored Easter eggs.

(Why, yes, that is a Halloween table cloth they're sitting on.)

Look at those faces!! I think that something in the dye must be getting to them.

More on the Easter egg hunt tomorrow......

Bling

Last night Addison told me that her teacher had a really cute ring for sale. It had a tiny flower on it and she was thinking about buying it.

Note: Her teacher has a booth at market days that sells fancied up flip flops and other such items.

Anyway, when I picked her up from school today she had bought the ring.

Is it just me, or does it seem a little on the big side for her hand?

Or for almost any hand, for that matter.

Honestly, I can't believe her teacher would even sell it to her.

April Fool's Breakfast

This morning I made this for the kids for breakfast.

When I woke them up, I told them that they all needed to hurry to breakfast because their eggs were getting cold.

Imagine their surprise when they found out it was pound cake, vanilla yogurt, and a peach half.

Ooops......I left a plate for Dax too. He was quite surprised to taste it after he warmed it in the microwave. *giggle*
